The Congress is co-hosted by the Department of Agriculture, Regional Field Unit IV-A and the Cavite Mango
Industry Development Council as the lead organizers in collaboration with the Philippine Mango Industry
Foundation, Inc., the various Local Government Units of the Province of Cavite, the Department of Trade and
Industry, Department of Science and Technology and other government agencies as well as non-government
organizations.
The 9th NMC, with the theme “Meeting the Challenges of the Expanding Local & Global Market”, will focus on
the situation of small mango growers throughout the country who make up 90% of the stakeholders of our
Mango Industry. To this date, the supposed benefit of the expansion of the local and export market for the
“carabao” mango has remained elusive to small mango growers throughout the country where a majority have
remained unorganized, uninformed and marginalized.
